Minimum Wage Increase ProposedOctober 1, 2001 ACTION ALERT WHITE HOUSE & CONGRESS CONSIDERING A $1.00 WAGE INCREASE October 1, 2001 The White House and Congressional leaders could agree on a $1.00 minimum wage increase this week as part of a broader economic stimulus package. As you are aware, our industry is one of the most impacted by the tragic events of September 11th. A minimum wage hike would be kicking us while we’re down! Again, this issue could be decided this week! It is vital that your members of Congress & the White House hear from you. Please call your Congressional members and the White House today with the following messages: Oppose an increase to the minimum wage!
