Minimum Wage Increase Proposed

October 1, 2001

ACTION ALERT

WHITE HOUSE & CONGRESS CONSIDERING A $1.00 WAGE INCREASE

October 1, 2001

The White House and Congressional leaders could agree on a $1.00 minimum wage increase this week as part of a broader economic stimulus package. As you are aware, our industry is one of the most impacted by the tragic events of September 11th. A minimum wage hike would be kicking us while we’re down!

Again, this issue could be decided this week! It is vital that your members of Congress & the White House hear from you. Please call your Congressional members and the White House today with the following messages:

Oppose an increase to the minimum wage!

A wage increase, especially during a recession, would be economically irrational and devastating to the restaurant and retail industries.

PLEASE CALL YOUR LEGISLATORS & THE WHITE HOUSE TODAY!

To reach your legislators & the White House you may: Call your members of Congress directly Call the U.S. Capitol Switchboard at 202/224-3121 White House: 202/456-1111
