The fate of the Death Tax Elimination Act (H.R.8) now lies solely in the hands of President Clinton. Because President Clinton is threatening to veto the bill, the National Restaurant Association strongly encourages restaurateurs to call the White House today to urge enactment of H.R.8. The Senate vote to repeal the onerous “death tax” fell eight votes short of the two-thirds majority required to over-ride a presidential veto. Call the White House switchboard at (202) 456-1414.
