Teacher Externship Program
In 2007, TRAEF launched the Teacher Externship Program. This program connects teachers with local restaurants and sets up a summer four-week externship. The teacher works in all aspects of the restaurant – front of the house, back of the house and management – to gain increased understanding of and appreciation for the operations of a restaurant. The restaurant pays the teacher a minimum wage and the TRAEF provides a stipend.
