Government Affairs
TRA is the voice of the Texas restaurant industry at the Texas Capitol. With a strong reputation for effectiveness, TRA works closely with elected officials and state agency personnel to ensure a positive business climate for restaurateurs and others in the foodservice industry. There are many ways to support in this important effort and TRA works hard to keep our members informed and involved.

Southwest Foodservice Expo
The Southwest Foodservice Expo is the second largest tradeshow in the foodservice industry. Held each June, alternating between Dallas and Houston, Expo is the place for finding new products and services, networking with fellow restaurateurs and gaining insights into industry trends and cutting-edge business practices.

The TRA Education Foundation’s goal is to meet the educational needs of the foodservice industry. The Foundation focuses on providing the necessary resources to help restaurateurs confront educational and labor challenges with the latest innovations in education, technology, and training.

With information on human resources issues such as recruiting, job descriptions and employment policies; food safety requirements; legal solutions and guidance on food laws, TRA provides our members with solutions for issues critical to their success.

TRA offers ServSafe, the industry’s most recognized food safety training program. ServSafe training is available online, in classrooms and we also offer proctored exam sites. TRA developed FoodGuard which is the only online certification test for Food Managers approved by the Texas Department of State Health Services. Additionally, TRA offers online training for alcohol seller/servers.
